Today, our messenger of the Gods (Mercury) travels into the pioneering, warrior spirit of Aries. Today is his day. Wednesday is ruled by Mercury. Our great Lord of the Mind rules the airy sign of Gemini (socializes & mobilizes our thinking) and the earthy sign of Virgo (organizes our thinking with purpose).
When a planet moves into a new sign, it’s a powerful time to revisit the archetypal invitation. The character in play (the planet) + the costume he/she is wearing (zodiac sign) communicates a message. Personally, it’s also helpful to know the house that’s being animated with these energies (consult your chart).
Aries is the “me” energy; the vibe of new beginnings and spring. The time of the year where blooming occurs, again.
Think boldly. Explore new ideas; examine your thinking with courage + confidence.
Perceive clearly, think & speak confidently. Do not loose heart. If life is in flux or you’re moving through what feels like a vast cavern of transition (as so many of us are at this time), take care. On many levels, I’d suggest if we’re not disturbed by what’s unfolding in the macro, I wonder how awake we truly are.
At around 8:22am Atlantic, our Great Mother, Queen of the Hearth (the Moon) illuminates the “we” energies as she transitions in the Libra zodical sign of harmony, balance. She opposes this Mercury.
Our emotional nature of “we” stands off with our thinking nature of “me”. Oppositions of energies are about integration.
The moon is at her expanding phase, growing towards the Full Moon in Libra that will occur on Friday April 19th at around 8:12am Atlantic.
Be aware of the light & shadow.
Like with everything in life there is a polarity of potential. Innovate, express, be inspired. AND…Witness angry, impulsive thoughts. Practice what helps you to keep a cool head. This can feel challenging as Mercury in Aries is far from contemplative. There is a subjective, passionate nature to our thinking. His invitation feels like one of instinctual mindfulness. With the Libra Moon in a face-off, lead with a compassionate, just, balanced approach.
Pay attention to your purely emotional or thinking reactions. Breathe, settle into your body and consider your response. Invite space for your thinking of “me” & longing of “we” to merge.
Mercury is a storyteller.
Contemplate the stories you give oxygen to. Work with your mind. Journal, discuss and express yourself with others.
To save the world is not our individual burden or call, rather, to show up in each moment and do our best, with where we’re at.
Here is a beautiful invitation to consider, from a letter written to the Young Activist, by Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Ph.D.

As Mercury illuminates a new flavour of the mind, consider…
How might growing your confidence with new thinking AND a compassionate, just heart serve?
