Recently I have reconnected with a beautiful book & it's teachings on the Seven Laws of Yoga, and also further translated by Deepak Chopra as the Seven Laws of Success.
Each day we're invited to live into one "law". A practice of intention as we co-create with life.
Today is Sunday. The Law of Pure Potential
I started where I was, in my dance of attachment and struggle. Not surprisingly as I honoured the impulse to re-engage with this offering, voila, Friday, the Law of Detachment.
Saturday was an exploration of the Law of Dharma, Living on & with Purpose.
The Law of Pure Potential
Let's explore this terrain together...
Today, we're invited to connect in with the realm of pure potential. What is this? This is the territory of knowledge, intuition, balance, harmony, & bliss.
In fact, this is our "T"rue essence - an infinite space of potential.
Practically, we have a limitless pathway to becoming. Our lives, as the result of our thinking & conditioning is set-up to take us away from this knowing.
Home is a concept that is related to root chakra themes of security, survival and tribal messages. We've engrained a view of external pursuits that take us further and further from our true home. An inner space & place. Here in this abode, we're never alone & always connected. Connected to the divine essence of our being.
Through our willingness to touch down, inside, we're reminded of this experience of the "S"elf. We abide in/ with a life-dance that is internally referenced and guided. With an awareness that it is our connection with our divine essence, our pure, limitless potential that is a super-power, as spirit in tissue.
How apt, that on Sunday, a day for many in the west of rest, regroup and relaxation & play, we're invited to plug in, or what I am inviting, to touch down, inside, with a greater experience of ourSelves.
Today feels like an invitation to connect with Our Inner Mystery...
Our Mantra for today is: Om Bhavam Namah. This is offered as a vibrational prayer of "I am absolute existence"
Interestingly, the planet often associated with Sunday is the Sun. The Sun is one of two great luminaries of the heavens. Father sky (Sun) & Mother Earth (Moon).
The sign our sun is in when we’re born highlights key characteristic of our being, said to represent our personality. It offers clues to how we do or do not shine in our life. It also correlates to the father experience this lifetime and our dance with authority. Some say the sun is our life-force, our innate expression and the sign it is in holds keys to our purpose.
Shining in our life is often filled with "historical messages". For many, these create illusionary filters, that most often link back to our world view of separation.
Today experiment with embodying the mystical law of : All is One
Movement & Stillness
A consideration that invites some reflection and experimentation is that movement & stillness, vibrationally are the front & back of the same hand.
Each & everyday, we can awaken into our pure potential.
Practically, this can look like designing a sacred transition with stillness in how we begin & end our days.
Today, consider moving with the awareness of being the ocean.
Of being fully connected with the infinite space of you.
- What do you notice, inside?
- What do you notice, outside?
Today, as I consider the call for those women choosing to be spiritual warriors, Sunday's invitation is rooted in willigness.
Our willingness to touch down in our own potential first.
To put our oxygen masks on first.
To tend to the soul of our well-being. In this willingness, our choices shape-shift in the direction of life-affirming action. In this willingness, we liberate ourSelves from stuck thinking, being and doing.
We choose to fuel our home. That inner space. We discover that our well-being doesn't need to be something we add to our "to-do" lists. In fact, in this very moment we can choose to plug into our true essence that lives in this breath, this moment.
Back to some more considerations
The Law of Pure Potentiality governs the seventh chakra.
This center, known as Sahaswara, is visualized as a lotus flower at the crown of the head. When the lotus unfolds its petals, the memory of wholeness is restored. You remember that your essential nature is unbounded and that you are spirit in disguise as a person. This is the full expression of yoga—the unification of being with action, of universality with individuality. It is associated with the sense of compassion that comes from recognizing another as a reflection of yourself. The sense is the inner light that radiates from the eternal flame of sacred wisdom.
The color of the seventh energy center is violet.
The seed sound for the sixth chakra is: Aum. (often represented as Om)
Experiment with a breathing mantra of I am.
On your inhales, silently voice, I. On your exhales, silently voice Am.
In the book, we're offered three intentions to support activating the Law of Pure Potentiality
- Cultivate stillness. Sit and be. Be mindful of stillness in your movement.
- Commune with nature. Get outside and really presence your surrounds.
- Practice non-judgment. Invite the intention..“Today, I shall judge nothing that occurs,” and remind yourself that self-acceptance is a great gift you can offer to yourSelf & other.
So, where to from here fellow travellers?
My invitation is to JOIN me today in exploring and experimenting with great curiosity & compassion the practice of law of pure potential.
In choosing to become a spiritual warrior we must discover who we are beyond our personality & who we've been.
Experiment today with:
- Being open to what presents.
- Being mindful of how you are shining & relating to the shine of life.
- Practice inhaling deeply and expressing, slow lone exhales throughout the day.
- Laying down in the grass, sand & drink in the sky above. Smell the fragrances that surround you. Feel the earth beneath your feet. Allow the air to permeate your skin with it's kiss. Smile with gratitude for being here, now.
